E3D Toolchanger: a new platform for open source innovation

The open source reprap movement gave rise to many new 3D printer companies like Makerbot and Ultimaker empowering an entire generation of makers and tinkerers to innovate.
With consumer FDM printers now being in a race to the bottom we look to the future and ask : "What is next in the world of open source hardware?".
The release of the E3D Toolchanger platform represents a new paradigm for personal fabrication and is sure to give rise to a new ecosystem of open source tools. In this talk we will look at potential applications made possible by an open source approach.
